Our guest speaker, Dr. Bill Cefalu, Jr., Chairman of Hospital Service District #2, will give an update on the proposed Ad Valorem Tax on the October 14, 2023 ballot. Hospital Service District #2 covers the area from Calumet to Amelia. The proposed tax is a 5.5-mills tax that would raise money to bring back obstetrics and pediatrics services to Ochsner St. Mary.
